• You have worked hard all your life and now it’s time to reward yourself. The years are slowly clocking up but you are stuck in the rat-race. It’s not unusual for hard workers to never really reward themselves.
• You have a built-in resistance that building your own home is one for the ‘too hard’ basket. If you were to climb Mt Everest in 2 years’ time, could you do it? If you were of reasonable fitness, were dedicated with your training AND had the best coach, this seemingly impossible feat wouldn’t be so daunting, would it. Awareness and commitment is the key.
• You have heard many horror stories relating to building. This is very common. But keep in mind, bad news sells more. For every horror story, there are hundreds of successful ones that never get media coverage.
• You would love to build a new home but have never done it before and this is why you’re procrastinating. This is usually a case of ‘where do I start’. You may have many questions, ask them and the fog will start to disappear. There is no such thing as a silly question…just silly answers.

• You don’t know how to assess the suitability of a vacant site. The question isn’t one of suitability. Every site, no matter how difficult, has a solution. The question is, what is the cost of the solution. When numbers are casually thrown around without proper analysis, your project is doomed to fail. Good accuracy can be obtained without spending a fortune.
• You don’t know how much to allow for a newly built home. Do you know the cost per kilogram of a new car? You probably don’t, as it’s not your field of expertise. Connecting with the true experts in the field will remove uncertainty with building costs as every house is different.
