Macleans Primary School, recently underwent a series of upgrades and renovations aimed at enhancing the learning environment for its students and staff. The improvements focused on modernising facilities, improving energy efficiency, and ensuring a safe and comfortable space for teaching and learning.
Classroom Upgrades:
Seven classrooms were revitalised with updated wall linings, new flooring, and double-glazed joinery to improve insulation and reduce noise. These upgrades not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the classrooms but also contribute to a more conducive learning environment.
Electrical and Heating Improvements:
The school’s switchboards were upgraded to meet modern safety standards, ensuring reliable power distribution throughout the campus. Additionally, heat pumps were installed across all blocks, providing efficient heating and cooling to maintain a comfortable temperature year-round.
Programme Adjustments:
The project timeline was carefully managed, with adjustments made to shave two weeks off the schedule. This allowed teachers early access to the upgraded classrooms, giving them time to prepare for the new term and organise their teaching spaces.
Asbestos Removal:
As part of the school’s commitment to safety, asbestos removal was completed in two rooms, ensuring a hazard-free environment for students and staff.
