Ground improvement and full civil delivery for Pavilion Hotel - including displacement piles, drainage networks, and pavement construction on complex ground conditions.

We delivered the full civil and ground improvement scope for the Pavilion Hotel site -  a large commercial development requiring deep foundation treatment, service installation, and heavy-duty pavement construction.

The early stages involved soil stabilisation and installation of 260 displacement piles 14-16m deep across the footprint to improve bearing capacity and reduce settlement risk in soft peat ground. The team coordinated closely with the specialist piling contractor, managing sequencing, access, and QA around continuous operations.

Once the ground was stabilised, we constructed stormwater and wastewater networks, subgrade preparation, and road and carpark formation. This included detailed excavation, trenching under traffic management, and installation of large-diameter pipes under shoring.

Subsequent stages involved kerb and channel placement, basecourse preparation, and asphalt surfacing - creating durable pavement areas to support hotel parking, coach circulation, and future loading requirements.

The project demanded tight tolerances, continual coordination with vertical trades, and careful management of interfaces with adjacent live industrial operations. Despite the scale and variable weather, the works were completed efficiently with a strong safety and quality record.
